Kommunale Galerien Berlin present the fourth KGB-Kunstwoche parallel to Berlin Art Week from September 8 to 17, 2017, in 28 galleries across 12 Berlin districts. With works from over 400 artists – in exhibitions, performances, readings and film screenings – Kommunale Galerien Berlin demonstrate the artistic diversity of the capital and, more significantly, the public is invited to actively participate and get to know the locations that for Berlin-based creatives are so often a springboard to the international art scene.
Highlights of this Kunstwoche include Artist Walks and three moderated Bus tours. Additionally, there is a thematic evening “Kultur in nervösen Zeiten. Zum Umgang mit Rechtspopulismus im Kontext von Kunst und Kultur” (Culture in Uncertain Times. On dealing with right-wing populism in the context of art and culture) at 7 p.m., September 13, 2017, at alte feuerwache. Playing at the legendary concert night KGB-Sounds on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Heimathafen Neukölln are ZURICAT, KENICHI, JON CAMPBELL, and F.S.K., as well as DJane BIANCA KRUK.
Kommunalen Galerien Berlin boasts a total exhibition space of 4000 square metres and holds 200 exhibitions annually with approx. 1000 artists participating.
