HOLY SHIT is a solo exhibition by Alex Lebus exploring the relationship between faith and the body, devotion and exclusion, the holy and the profane. The exhibition space, a decomissioned public toilet, is reimagined as a temporary sacred space. What happens when a loo becomes an alter? When a place of retreat is transformed into a chapel? Amid scents, prayers, and social taboos, a field of tension arises in which the profane is not placed in opposition to the sacred, but purposefully intertwined with it.
