As a municipal gallery, we are looking for ways to engage with digital space. To explore this new space with artists and the public, we conducted digital residencies, the results of which have been brought together in POST NORMAL. The exhibition title has been borrowed from the work of Sharon Paz and refers to the concept of “postnormal times,” which conceptualises our present as an in-between phase between old and new, conservative and progressive. While the present is being constantly questioned, digital space offers us (seemingly) unlimited possibilities. The limits of physical space can be overcome easily in the digital realm—who could make objects float or completely deconstruct architecture in physical space?
