Derselbe Himmel – Modefotografie

Ute Mahler is one of the most important photographers working today. Her early work is tied closely to the GDR fashion and culture magazine, Sibylle, where her fashion work is inseparable from her portraiture. Alongside the clothing itself, portraits were already a defining element of her ouvre at the time. Women, and how they are portrayed in society, remain a central focus of her photography. This exhibition presents photographs on the same theme produced for Sibylle from 1975 onward, as well as a photo essay published in FAZ magazine in 2020.
