Edna Martinez is a visionary Colombian Caribbean DJ, curator, and producer who brings Cartagena’s street-born Picó sound system to international audiences. Inspired by its handcrafted, powerful, colorful speakers and traditions of collective memory, her expansive DJ sets blend deep basslines, electronic textures, diasporic rhythms, sounds from Africa, the Arab world, UK funky, and other sound system influences. In 2025, her debut compilation, Picó Sound System Culture from the Colombian Caribbean, was released on Strut Records.
