PENETRAÇÃO PACÍFICA – Germans in Angola

In collaboration with Angolan artist Mussunda N‘Zombo and photographer Bruno Fonseca, the Goethe-Institut Angola has spent the past two years searching for traces of an unwritten chapter of Germany’s colonial presence in Angola. Drawing on reports and testimonies from German plantation owners who lived in Angola until 1975, the exhibition offers a mosaic of diplomatic documents, interviews with former workers, archive finds, films, and family records from descendants born in Angola, alongside contemporary performance photography.
