Unit

Unit is based around the Kreuzberg apartment building where Shirin Sabahi used to live, and its loft conversion between 2019 and 2022. The exhibition reframes the top-down logic of Berlin’s real estate market through pieces including the show’s eponymous sculpture — staging kitchen modules made of cardboard stacked into sculptural form — as well as photographs from the construction phase in the building.
 
The exhibition forms the third and final part of the Domesticity series developed by Pankow/Prenzlauer Berg curatorial trainees.
