Windstille Nacht

The Windstille Nacht (Windless Night) exhibition brings together two exceptional Berlin-based painters, Ewa Finn (b. 1979, Warsaw) and Katharina Poos (b. 1961, Berlin), whose works explore the subtle, the uncanny, and the psychological state of unknowing. In the paintings of both Finn and Poos, figures move almost as if sleepwalking through symbolic pictorial spaces that offer no actual space. Their intensity arises instead from conscious and unconscious echoes of religious motifs, the imagery of Romanticism, and contemporary press photography.
