Perhaps a voice does not begin in the mouth. Perhaps it begins in stone, in a wall, in a breath, in the memory of a space.
In her performance *Solo for voice and tape*, Alessandra Eramo combines voice, body and space. The voice detaches itself from language and becomes sound, noise, rhythm and movement. It expands, breaks, transforms and encounters a tape bearing traces of memory and absence.
In the Historischer Keller, the space itself becomes a resonating body. What begins as a voice transforms into something physical, spatial, perhaps even material.
In the encounter with Margarita Wenzel’s installation, a movement emerges between material and voice, between memory and the present, between what is visible and what only reveals itself through listening.
Perhaps this is also where the voice of the space begins.


Alessandra Eramo is a sound artist and vocalist based in Berlin. In her performances, installations, sound poetry, radio art and videos, she explores the hidden acoustic possibilities of the voice and sound. Her works revolve around the body, memory, migration and ecology, and are often created in engagement with specific spaces. Eramo has worked internationally in museums, galleries and at festivals for experimental music, including MaerzMusik Berlin, Deutschlandfunk Kultur Klangkunst and the Venice Biennale.

As part of the closing event for the exhibition “MORE THAN BEAUTY,” which seeks to redefine the way the female body is viewed, moving beyond its mere aestheticization, the Finnish-German artist collective JOKAklubi turns ist attention to beauty contests. Known for their unpredictable, chaotic and engaging performances, thriving on collegial friendships and remaining loyal to their communal spirit, they have invited guest stars to artistically respond to the long history of rating women based on their physical appearance.

JOKAklubi’s members are visual artists Niina Lehtonen Braun, Tellervo Kalleinen and Mirka Raito.

In Biting, Selin Davasse inhabits the voices of various domesticated animals: a city pigeon, a laboratory mouse, and a honeybee. Even the texts take on their forms: each monologue follows the logic, rhythm, and movement of its animal — bobbing like the pigeon, fleeing like the mouse, swarming like the bee. Biting traces the entanglements of animality, language, and capital, and takes as its premise that figures of speech are animal before they are figurative. Even terms such as capital, brand, and stock have their roots in animal husbandry.
Through performance, Selin Davasse adjudicates tacit contracts of hospitality, domestication, and labor between a bestial feminine stranger, heterogeneous publics, and the institutions framing their encounter. Shifting between personae, each with her own grammar and physicality, she translates systems of thought into intimate utterances between speech and song.

Biting follows on from earlier performances and develops them further. This version of the work is being shown for the first time.

Friendship Fatigue is an investigation of solidarity in the past and today. The work is situated in the context of the (post) reunification period in Germany, though the questions it raises extend into the present where there is a resurgence of right-wing sentiment. Minh Duc Pham alternates between reading and action as a huge inflatable star shape is filled with air. As the empty plastic skin gradually expands, poems, letters, and other writings, composed by both citizens of East Germany and contract workers living and working there in the early 90s, are read aloud.

LET ME SHOW YOU SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL is an independent mobile public gallery initiated by Georgian artist and curator Natalia Vatsadze. Without a permanent location, the gallery appears in public spaces, creating a platform for artists and citizens to share ideas and engage with contemporary social and political issues. The gallery brings artworks directly into everyday environments, making art accessible to diverse audiences. Since its launch, the project has organized several exhibitions, supporting politically engaged and socially critical artistic practices.

Children of Sodomy is a performance that confronts queer persecution and the historical mechanisms of witch hunts. Two performers are connected by a long braid of hair; they struggle against each other initially before realizing that liberation is only possible together. Here, hair represents identity, community, and ‘reclaiming.’ The performance also investigates the shifting meaning and social instrumentalization of the term ‘sodomy.’
