ADORNED

Jewellery-photo workshop

What significance does “being adorned” have for us?
Inspiration for ways to approach this question can be found in the “Roger Melis – Künstlerporträts” exhibition at Galerie Pankow. Melis was a legend of East German portrait, reportage, and fashion photography. His sophisticated artistic photos shaped the appearance to the well-known GDR women’s magazine for fashion and culture, “Sibylle.” Taking inspiration from “Sibylle” images, we discuss what made these fashion photos style-defining.
We create jewellery pieces from leftover materials such as perforated sheet metal, cork, and paperclips, and then style ourselves with the new jewellery for portraits in front of the camera.

Cameras/tablet, materials provided. Personal photography equipment can be brought along.

Inclusive workshop for young people, 13–20 years old. For individual participants, accompanying persons welcome (individual care workers and other caregivers)

Workshop leader: Bettina Albrecht (Artist)
