Hannah Bohnen’s work “Obsession” mirrors the complexity of Eugène Ysaÿe’s second solo sonata of the same name. The piece is known primarily for its expressive violin sound and technical demands. Bohnen visualizes this listening experience by making the abstract melodies of the violin tangible through her art and bridging the gap between sound and visual representation using motion tracking. Violinist Philipp Bohnen (Berlin Philharmonic) will perform the second solo sonata live in front of the artist’s work at Galerie Parterre.
