The association-rich concept of space is used in both natural and geological sciences as well as cultural studies. The “raumwelten” (worlds of space) exhibition explicitly focuses on urban spatial structures — on urban architecture and associated social, historical, and political implications. In dialogue with the remarkable architectural framing of the Rathaus Galerie Reinickendorf, the exhibition presents the contemporary artistic approaches of eight artists whose focus includes the complex processes of urban development and the translation of architectural spatial experience into abstract pictorial space.
