“Die Kids sind Nicht Alright!” (The Kids are Not Alright!) is a group exhibition that addresses the effects of the post-reunification years and their influence on the lives of the participating artists. They were all still children when the Berlin Wall fell and were invariably caught up in the turmoil of the post-reunification years, which threw their parents and grandparents into dramatic reorientation, risk, and crisis. Each artistic approach contributes to processing, reflecting on, and coping with the developments. Questions of origin, identity, and associated opportunities are negotiated, and there is a critical engagement with political systems, social values, and economic demands.
